While Hitler was in control of Germany, he made a very large effect on the world. This could be because he was such an exceptional leader. He helped to improve Germany’s economy and military. He added a lot of property to the boarders of Germany, and the majority of the people under his ruling came together in national unity and saw him as a good leader. Everything that Hitler did during his time was such a help for Germany and its citizens, and this is what a good leader would do, help out his country. Was Hitler a good leader?

FAMOUS DEAD

By April 1945 the Russian army had surrounded Berlin, where Hitler had his headquarters in his bunker. He had decided to make his last stand in Berlin, and not surrender. The generally accepted account is that he committed suicide by biting a cyanide capsule and shooting himself simultaneously. His body (and that of his wife) was then burned with gasoline by his aides. The Russian secret service identified his remains by his dental records.

However, to this day there have been doubts as to his death, the manner of his death and as to the identification of his remains, including the fragment of skull the Russians claim belonged to Hitler.

HELLO NAZI PARTY!

"I spoke for thirty minutes, and what before I had simply felt within me, without in any way knowing it, was now proved by reality: I could speak! After thirty minutes the people in the small room were electrified and the enthusiasm was first expressed by the fact that my appeal to the self-sacrifice of those present led to the donation of three hundred marks."-Adolf Hitler

On February 24, 1920, Hitler was thrilled when he entered the large meeting hall in Munich and saw two thousand people waiting, including a large number of Communists.

A few minutes into his speech, he was drowned out by shouting followed by open brawling between German Workers' Party associates and disruptive Communists. Eventually, Hitler resumed speaking and claims in Mein Kampf the shouting was gradually drowned out by applause.
He proceeded to outline the Twenty Five Points of the German Workers' Party Hitler realized one thing the movement lacked was a recognizable symbol or flag. In the summer of 1920, Hitler chose the symbol which to this day remains perhaps the most infamous in history, the swastika.
The German Workers' Party name was changed by Hitler to include the term National Socialist. Thus the full name was the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP) called for short, Nazi.
By the end of 1920 it had about three thousand members.

STEPS TAKEN BY HIM

In the early 1930s, the mood in Germany was grim. Still fresh in the minds of many was Germany's humiliating defeat fifteen years earlier during World War I, and Germans lacked confidence in their weak government, known as the Weimar Republic. These conditions provided the chance for the rise of a new leader, Adolf Hitler, and his party, the National Socialist German Workers' Party or NAZI

Hitler was a powerful and affective speaker who attracted a wide following of Germans desperate for change. He promised the disenchanted a better life and a new and glorious Germany. The Nazis appealed especially to the unemployed, young people, and members of the lower middle class (small store owners, office employees, craftsmen, and farmers).
The party's rise to power was rapid. Before the economic depression struck, the Nazis were practically unknown, winning only 3 percent of the vote to the Reichstag (German parliament) in elections in 1924. In the 1932 elections, the Nazis won 33 percent of the votes, more than any other party. In January 1933 Hitler was appointed chancellor, the head of the German government, and many Germans believed that they had found a savior for their nation.

THE RISE OF HITLER

Hitler in World War I - 1914-1918

Hitler moved to Munich, Germany in May 1913. He did so to avoid arrest for evasion of his military service obligation to Habsburg Austria and financed by the last installment of his inheritance from his father. In Munich, he continued to drift, supporting himself on his watercolors and sketches until World War I gave his life direction and a cause to which he could commit himself totally. By all surviving accounts, Hitler was a brave soldier: he was promoted to the rank of Corporal, was wounded twice (in 1916 and 1918) and was awarded several medals.

Though reportedly not given to lengthy political discourses at this time, Hitler appeared to have been carried along by an increasingly vicious political anti-Semitism promulgated by the radical right and seeping into the military hierarchy during the last two years of the war.
In October 1918, Hitler was partially blinded in a mustard gas attack near Ypres in Belgium. He was sent to the military hospital, where the news of the November 11, 1918, armistice reached him as he was convalescing.

HITLER COME TO POWER

The story of why Hitler came to power is about the reasons why the German people lost their senses and allowed a vicious madman to come to power.   What could have brought this about?

1.     Long-term bitterness

Deep anger about the First World War and the Treaty of Versailles created an underlying bitterness to which Hitler’s viciousness and expansionism appealed, so they gave him support.

2.      Ineffective Constitution

Weaknesses in the Constitution crippled the government.   In fact, there were many people in Germany who wanted a return to dictatorship.   When the crisis came in 1929–1933 – there was no one who was prepared or able to fight to stop Hitler.

3.      Money

The financial support of wealthy businessmen gave Hitler the money to run his propaganda and election campaigns.

4.      Propaganda

Nazi propaganda persuaded the German masses to believe that the Jews were to blame and that Hitler was their last hope.

5.      Programme

Hitler promised everybody something, so they supported him.

6.      Attacks on other parties

The Stormtroopers attacked Jews and people who opposed Hitler.   Many opponents kept quiet simply because they were scared of being murdered – and, if they were, the judges simply let the Stormtroopers go free.

7.       Personal Qualities

Hitler was a brilliant speaker, and his eyes had a peculiar power over people.   He was a good organiser and politician.   He was a driven, unstable man, who believed that he had been called by God to become dictator of Germany and rule the world.   This kept him going when other people might have given up.   His self-belief persuaded people to believe in him.

The household now consisted of Adolf, little brother Edmund, little sister Paula, older half-brother Alois  Jr, older half-sister Angela and two parents who were home all the time. It was a crowded, noisy little farm house.Seems like he been raised in a poor condition but they have a beautiful family who loved him.

When he turns into 13 , his father died In 1907, Hitler went to Vienna to be an art student. He tried to get into the Academy of Fine Arts, which is a public art school of higher education in Vienna, Austria but he could not pass the entrance exam. He failed twice. After his mother died in 1907, Hitler received an inheritance from his mother and his aunt. He also received money from drawings and paintings that he sold. Hitler thought that Germans were superior and other nationalities should be treated poorly.

In February, 1910, he moved into a home for poor men where he would stay for the next few years. Hitler sometimes earned a little money as a day laborer, shoveling snow and carrying bags at the train station. Another resident at the home, Reinhold Hanish , acted as his agent, hawking Hitler's works of art to various shops where they were mostly used to fill empty picture frames. Hitler also painted posters for shop windows. During that moment, he learnt how to be independent.
